PRODUCTION NOTES: Granular synthesis and microsound techniques were used for sound generation. Sources include: flute, harp; strings; toy instruments; vinyl records; elementary sound waveforms.

Density GS and Pulsaret were the primary instruments. Arrangement, mixing and mastering was done with Ableton Suite. Processing effects were limited to resonant filters, grain delay, reverb and EQ.

I compose, produce and perform music under the name nofi, melton, and the silent stars: A mix of ambient, drone, freeform, ... more granular & microsound; chill-out and lounge; generative dub and minimal techno.

I define nofi as a state of being-without-boundaries (i.e. boundless, stateless). According to Google, ‘nofi’ also translates to ‘swimming’ in Welsh and ‘satisfactory’ in Indonesian. less
